Sospan 10 mile multi-terrain race
The race is held at Pembrey Country Park and takes in a tour of the park, forest and part of the beach. The running surfaces include tarmac, grass, sandy soil, forest tracks, a gravel forrestry road, a concrete road and a sandy beach.
The event will be held once again down the Pembrey Country Park at 11 am on 16th November 2008.
Important: Entry to the country park is no longer free for competitors.
Event details:
- Fast, undulating and traffic free route over 1 lap, suitable for runners of all abilities.
Route includes beautiful forest tracks and the magnificent sandy Cefn Sidan beach
- A fully marshalled course with 2 water stations and distance markers at every mile.
- Cash prizes for top place finishers in each category and race memento.
- Toilets, onsite parking and refreshments available. Limited to 600 entries. Presentation on the day at 13:00.
- 1st aid cover provided by St. John Ambulance.

The first male and first female get to have their names put on the plaques that are retained by the club.
Prizes are awarded to the first, second and third placed runners in the following categories: female senior, female veteran, male senior, male veteran.
Directions:
The Country Park can be found just off the A484 Llanelli to Carmarthen coast road just outside Burry Port. The Park is approximately a half hour drive from Carmarthen and a similar distance from Junction 48 M4. Follow the Brown directional signs.
Enter the park via the control gate. If you show your entry form or race number you will gain free entry. Once through the gate the start is approx 600 meters straight down the road, on the right hand side.
Car parks are about another quarter of a mile on down the road.
