Christmas dinner bash, 16th December 2006

Sospans packed out the upstairs at the Halfway Hotel on Saturday 16th December 2006. Any more and we would have had to have booked a bigger place. Good fun was had by all and awards were given to riotous and deafening applause as follows:

Most improved male: Steve Coupe - Our Welsh International has continued to break pbs on what were already exceptionally fast times.

Most improved female: Gillian Phillips - has had several pbs this year and is on cracking form.

Most improved walker: Sian Jones - has made great strides this year, including a summit of Pen-y-Fan.

Personality of the year: Neil Thomas - has done loads behind the scenes to help the club over the last 12 months.

Performance: Scott Evans - still relatively new to the club, Scott got a pb at the Cardiff Marathon with 2hrs, 55min.

Most improved newcomer: Jackie Evans - has made terrific progress in the last 12 months.

"On the night" awards...

Best tie: Matt Fincher

The award that shall remain nameless: Carol Morgan - see main picture. None of us can believe it!

A prize draw was held with proceeds going towards this year's MT charity, Mencap. Prize winners were Clive Stevenson, Matt , Nia, Ruth, Clive Morris, Karyn, Jon & Ian. Jon said he would pick one out for Ian and he was right - it was either prescient premonition or perfect prestidigitation!
