Participate in the club
That's what it's all about, joining in. Whether you just turn up for one of the regular weekly sessions, attend social events, or get more involved by helping out in the organisation of events or becoming a committee member.
Helping out
The club is nothing without you it’s membership and there are plenty of things you can do to help the club progress. These things include:
Marshalling
Club races need to be properly controlled. Typical marshalling duties include: directing runners on the course, handing out water, registering entrants, timekeeping etc
Generally helping at race days
Setting up the course bit’s and pieces and helping to get them stored again. Other essential activities include manning stalls, directing car parking areas, etc.
Supporting competitors
It’s often a great lift to know you have encouragement and support from other club members at races. It’s also quite a lot of fun to attend some of these events, especially if you’re new to them. The Welsh Castles Relay is a particular case in point, a nice weekend out.
Contribute to newsletters or website
We are always looking for contributions to our regular newsletters. If you feel you have any experience or info that would be good to share, contact us. The same goes for the website. If you have experience of website design and would like to help us improve our site, we would be more than happy to hear from you.
Coaching / first aid
We have a number of qualified coaches, but could always use more. If you are qualified, or want to be, let us know. We have arranged first aid training for some members and would always welcome more people with experience or interest in this area too.
Social events
We regularly organise social events, which are often on a theme.
Just turn up
By turning up at our regular sessions you are helping to keep the club going.
